The Balwyn Oil Painting Group is an oil painting class I established in the Melbourne suburb of Kew in 1978.

Forty-two years later the class continues to function as a strong group of enthusiastic students.

Now based in Doncaster, the class meets on Monday afternoons.

Tuition concentrates on traditional realist and representational painting with an emphasis on the Tonal / observational approach to painting.

The class covers still-life and occasional portrait subjects and all are undertaken directly from life - ie: directly in front of the model with no photographic or other reference.
